NGVi Joins “America’s Business Support the NAT GAS Act” Campaign

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

NGVi is pleased to announce that NGVi has added their name to a growing list of organizations that are in support of the NAT GAS Act through NGVAmerica’s “America’s Business Support the NAT GAS Act” campaign. NGVAmerica will now send out the letter below to all House Members, with NGVi listed as a supporter.

America’s Businesses Support the NAT GAS Act

We, the undersigned, recognize that our nation’s reliance on foreign oil, and the $1 billion it costs our economy every day, represents a national and economic security risk.  For too long, our growing dependence has gone unchecked. However, we do have a viable, tested and domestic alternative: natural gas.

Natural gas is cleaner, cheaper and abundant — and, most importantly, it’s ours.  Its expanded use in the transportation marketplace can complement other domestic fuels to combat our nation’s growing dependence on foreign oil.

Natural gas as transportation fuel is a real solution to a real national security problem.

Natural gas is the only domestic alternative to foreign oil today that can power heavy-duty vehicles, which use 2.6 million barrels of oil every day.  Moreover, natural gas can play an important role in bridging today’s needs with tomorrow’s new technologies. In fact, unlike most of the alternative fuels being developed that are years from deployment, natural gas is one alternative that is here, now, and available.

We understand our nation’s transportation needs—it’s these needs that we have committed our lives and companies to serving.  The NAT GAS Act enables business like ours—ranging from small local and regional providers to global ones—to make the switch that much faster.  This support will result in new manufacturing and new jobs, exactly what our nation needs to continue rebuilding our economy.

We, therefore, support the NAT GAS Act (H.R. 1380) for its ability to provide a limited, five-year program that accelerates wider adoption of this American vehicle fuel to replace foreign oil immediately.

We call upon all Members of Congress and the Administration to support passage of the NAT GAS Act in 2011.

Respectfully,

Annalloyd Thomas

NGVI PRODUCES FIRST-EVER COMPREHENSIVE ONLINE BUYERS’ GUIDE EXCLUSIVELY FOR NATURAL GAS VEHICLES

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Las Vegas, NV – Natural Gas Vehicle Institute (NGVi) is pleased to announce the release of the first-ever comprehensive online Buyers’ Guide exclusively for Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV). The Guide is designed to be the one reliable and complete source of all commercially-available Class 1 through 8 natural gas vehicles, engines and conversion systems.  Offered through subscription, it is available exclusively online through NGVi’s website, http://www.ngvi.com/bg.

“Natural gas is an economically and environmentally smart alternative to gasoline and diesel for fleets. More and more companies are incorporating natural gas into their fleets.  NGVi recognizes the importance of giving fleet professionals the resources and tools needed to develop and implement a successful natural gas vehicle deployment strategy. That’s why we developed the NGV Buyers’ Guide” said Annalloyd Thomason, Vice President and General Manager of NGVi.

The NGV Buyers’ Guide is the latest product from NGVi to help fleet professionals to incorporate natural gas vehicles into their operations.  The Guide allows the user to search by fuel type, vehicle class, vehicle type, model year and manufacturer including original equipment manufacturers, small volume manufacturers, and engine and chassis manufacturers. Search results yield detailed vehicle specification information and vehicle images. Complete contact information for each manufacturer and natural gas industry partners is also included to help make purchasing decisions easier.

“All this information may be available from each individual manufacturer, however, our Guide cuts down the initial research by making it all available in one central location. We worked as closely as possible with each manufacturer to ensure accuracy,” said Thomason. “We will continue to with them to regularly update the Guide as new vehicles enter the market, keeping the Guide as accurate as possible.”

For a limited time, the NGV Buyers’ Guide is being offered at a special introductory rate for a 12-month subscription. The NGV Buyers’ Guide can be previewed and purchased at http://www.ngvi.com/bg.
